In 1948 Dean and Jerry Lewis packed up their broods and left New York City for the film capitol of the world, Hollywood, California. The team of Lewis and Martin may not have lasted, but Dean became one of the busiest and most beloved film stars of all time, which is something one could never say about Jerry.

Bob Siler grew up in Burbank, not far from Universal Studios and Warner Brothers where they made his favorite monster movies.  A long-time fan of Westerns, he still has a hard time believing that the great John Wayne could die.  Bob has created many lists detailing where the famous and infamous lived, are buried, and the cars they drove.  He has recently completed this list of Western Stars homes after many years.  Burbank Bob now resides in Portland, Oregon.

My very favorite singer of all time. It’s good to know he reunited with Jeannie and he died holding her hand here in this house. Thank you so much for the pictures and history.

I am curious why you never mentioned the ranch in Hidden Valley. Growing up in the area we continued to call that the Martin Ranch long after they sold and moved down to Bel Air

I appreciate your posting all the photos of homes The Martin Family resided in, as I am a long-time fan of Dean & Jeanne, Dean Paul, Deana and Ricci. I am curious as to what Catherine Mae Hawn is doing these days, if she is remarried; in addition, whatever is her daughter, Sasha, doing? According to what I read in Deana’s book, Jeanne was not with Dean when he died, although they had become marvelous friends in the several years prior to his demise. I am sure she wishes she had been with him at that time, however.

I loved Dean Martin; grew up watching his show Thursday nights beginning in elementary school. Still miss him.

I remember hearing–sadly–that Dean died alone, at home, early in the morning of Christmas Day 1995. I heard that he supposedly had called Frank Sinatra Christmas Eve and Frank didn’t take his call, something Frank Sinatra regretted thereafter.

I think I’ll always remember Dean at about age 48, sitting on the piano while smoking a cigarette, doubled over with laughter.

Dean Martin was a true entertainer, husband and father to many children. I miss him, I really do! So handsome and so sure of himself and what lovely children. So sad that he lost Claudia and Dean Paul and now Ricci! My condolences to Jeanne and Gina and the rest of his children He was a gifted comedian and a sweet man, I will never forget him.
